Ilse is responsible for audits in terms of planning, supervision and quality control. She joined Bass Gordon Willis in June 2002 and became the first female partner at MGI Bass Gordon when admitted as a partner in September 2003.

She studied at the University of Pretoria where she completed her Bachelor of Commerce Degree as well as her Certificate in Theory of Accounting.

After graduating, she completed her traineeship at Price Waterhouse Coopers in George, where she received a good grounding in both small and large audits. She passed the final qualifying examination in 2000.
